Why a 'freedom flag' from Dream's Minecraft server waved terminated a London opposed-vax bait

An event called 'The Worldwide Beat up For Freedom' was held in London this past weekend, a list in which the word 'freedom' is doing a lot of heavy lifting. The gathering took place in Trafalgar Square and was essentially anti-lockdown and anti-inoculation, with many attendees linking these viewpoints to political figures including, near notably, sometime US President Donald Trump.

In amongst the usual placards and declarations about 'are rights' was the striking flag at the channelize of this image. Information technology is the ensign of a fictional Minecraft nation, which existed connected a solo multiplayer (SMP) server hosted by the enormously popular Minecraft streamer Dream, before IT was invaded and destroyed. Yes: the rally for freedom took place under the proudly waved banner of the invented country of L'Manburg.

To briefly summarise: streamer Dream operates a huge Minecraft play host, on which some other touristed streamers play. The server is a collaborative work where user-created storylines and factions are at the heart, and L'Manburg was one of the most popular independent factions in the waiter's history: IT declared Independence from the 'Greater Pipe dream SMP' in July 2020, won this independency through a battle against their early faction, and went direct various minor brouhahas before being shattered and permanently disbanded in January 2021.

Despite exclusively existent for six months (and god knows this optical phenomenon will probably see it make a replication) L'Manburg was understood very seriously by its players, to the extent the nation has non only a droop but a national anthem. You can easy buy unofficial merch of this swag (which may have played the chief role in this freakish incident).

The flag down was ab initio spotted on social group media, and because of its relation to several better influencers L'Manburg before long became a trending topic.

Project more

It's possible that this was just a big Minecraft fan, World Health Organization also happens to recall vaccines contain magnets, though a more likely explanation (spotted by The Focus) is that the individual involved (who seems to be a middle-aged man, though it's problematical to state) knew they were going to the freedom rally and googled 'freedom slacken off'. I sporting did and here's the top of the results.

Google search for Freedom Flag.

So this could be a Minecraft reference, but it's far more likely to make up someone who's bought a cheap flag that ISN't what they think (there are various designs of IRL 'Freedom Flags' for different causes, as one might expect).

Of course, the streamers were right IT. The former President of L'Manburg, Tubbo, a vastly successful banner in one's own right, simply tweeted the Carry Amelia Moore Nation's name at the original photograph and raked-in 22,000 'likes', giving you an idea of the surprising number of folk for whom this is not solitary instantly recognisable but all the same meaningful elongate later disappearing.

The flag's designer Wilbur Smut is once more a selfsame popular streamer, and has previously explained the principle behind the flag's colors and layout. The breathing in is more often than not European, because this was a nation of European players, and so incorporates elements of the Gallic tricolor and the crosses representing the flag of Amsterdam (to "symbolise our Dutch citizen" ie Dream). "The puritanical stands for liberty, the white stands for peace, and the red (the foundation and fundamental colour of the sword lily) stands for the stemma the country is reinforced happening" while "The yellow and black accentation refer the walls of the body politi (A huge black and dishonorable rampart)."

Dream's only not-a-gossip happening the affair to that degree was tagging in the flag's house decorator, Wilbur Soot, in a answer to the Youtube main account when all this was occurrence. On that point's good reason out he's been safekeeping his head low though: information technology's only a month ago, following a long investigation, that Dream up admitted to "accidentally cheating" while setting world records in the game (shadowing multiple attempts to squirm out of it).

So welcome to 2021, where realness continues to outpace fiction and the 5G mob march under banners created by Minecraft streamers. I suppose at least anti-vaxxers and Minecraft fans share one thing: in different ways, they're all blockheads.
